Job summary

NEW LOOK is seeking an on-site Infrastructure Project Support professional to assist with a Data Centre move and BAU operations. You will migrate VMs and move physical servers to a modernised Data Centre, install hardware, patch cables, and document processes.

You’ll also support day-to-day M365, AD/Entra ID, DNS, and remote access, collaborating with cybersecurity teams. Required skills include Hyper-V/VMware, MECM/Intune, Azure, and backup/storage experience, with strong problem-solving and

Qualifications

• Past experience of a similar Data Centre Migration Project.
• Proven ability to manage and support both physical server infrastructure and virtualization platforms, including Hyper-V and VMware.
• Experience across Windows, Linux, and AIX server OS.
• Experience with Azure and Entra ID, Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup solutions (IBM, Cohesity).
• Hands-on with MFT solutions and secure file protocols (FTPS/SFTP).
• Experience with MECM (Config Manager) and Endpoint Manager (Intune).
• Active Directory Policy (Group Policy) administration.
• Basic networking knowledge, monitoring, automation via PowerShell.
• Experience with enterprise antivirus solutions.

Responsibilities

• Migrate virtual machines from old Data Centre to the new modernised Data Centre.
• Move physical servers to the new Data Centre and install hardware into racks.
• Develop a strategy to test relocated servers (physical and virtual).
• Cable and patching to a tidy, high standard with documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues arising from relocated servers; present fixes and document.
• Create and share high and low level documentation.
• 3rd line operational support alongside Service Desk and EUC teams.
• Manage day-to-day M365 cloud platform; monitor infrastructure across stores and cloud platforms.
• Support Infrastructure services including AD/Entra ID, DNS, Remote Access, Citrix, SQL Server, MoveIT, Backup, Monitoring.
• Support MECM & Intune; lifecycle management and upgrades.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity & service desk teams to ensure secure operations.

Job description

THE ROLE:

To support our in-house Infrastructure Team with a mix of project Support for our Data Centre Modernisation and also BAU Support across our organisations Enterprise Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

To be on site Project Support to our in-house Team for a Data Centre move, focusing on:

• Migration of Virtual Machines from old Data Centre to our modernised Data Centre
• Support the move of physical servers from old Data Centre to our modernised Data Centre
• Installation of physical hardware into racks in new Server Room
• Working with the wider Team to develop a strategy to test all relocated servers, both physical and virtual
• Cabling and patching across the new Data Centre infrastructure, accepting responsibility that all cabling is to a tidy, high standard and that documentation is created and shared appropriately
• Working within the Data Centre to resolve any issues arising from relocated Servers, troubleshooting, presenting fixes and documenting as necessary.
• Creating and sharing high and low-level documentation as required.

To support our in-house Infrastructure Team for day-to-day BAU activities to include:

• You will work closely with the Service Desk, End User Compute and other IT Service teams to provide 3rd line operational support.
• You will be supporting the day- to- day management of the M365 cloud platform & all elements of this, other than security elements.
• Monitor & maintain infrastructure across stores, support centres & cloud platforms (Azure/EntraID).
• You will be providing support for Infrastructure Operational services including but not limited to Active Directory, Entra AD, DNS, Remote Access (AOVPN and RSA), Citrix, AD Manager Plus, Enterprise SQL Servers, MoveIT Automation & FTP, Backup, Monitoring
• Support the New Look EUC device estate (MECM & Intune), ensuring that devices can be provisioned as required, are updated according to policies & that software can be installed when needed.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, patching & lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity & service desk teams to ensure secure & compliant operations.

WHO YOU ARE:

Relevant certifications (or equivalent experience):

• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• ITIL Foundation
• Microsoft 365

Required Skills:

• Past experience of a similar Data Centre Migration Project
• Proven ability to manage and support both physical server infrastructure and virtualisation platforms, including Hyper-V and VMware.
• Experience across a broad range of Server OS - Windows, Linux, AIX
• Experience of both legacy and current physical hardware and Virtualisation platforms
• Strong working knowledge of core enterprise technologies, including Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, and infrastructure management services
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup solutions (e.g., IBM, Cohesity) and associated data protection strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions and secure file protocols (FTPS/SFTP), including configuration and automation of file transfer workflows.
• Experience with MECM (Config Manager) & Endpoint Manager (Intune)
• Experience with Active Directory Policy (Group Policy) Administration
• Basic Networking skills
• Familiarity with monitoring, automation tools and Powershell.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with Enterprise Anti-Virus solutions
