Job summary

Nottingham Trent University’s Digital Technologies team is seeking a Technical Services Analyst (Infrastructure) to provide strong customer service and deliver across project work, service improvement, and break-fix tasks. You will work mainly in the Infrastructure area, handling enterprise servers and storage alongside Nutanix, VMware, and Rubrik.

The role requires Windows Server, Linux administration, and Azure administration with knowledge of other cloud platforms.

Technical Services Analyst (Infrastructure)

About The Role

Your primary responsibility is to provide outstanding customer service and to support the Technical Leads, other Analysts and Resource Manager as required to fulfil Project work, Service Improvement work and Break Fix activities.

You will be working primarily in the Infrastructure area of Technical Services. Your primary role will be working with a large number of enterprise server and storage technologies such as Hypervisors including Nutanix and VMware, the Rubrik backup platform and physical server installation. Experience of Windows server and domain services and Linux administration will be required. Good experience knowledge of Azure administration is necessary and ideally knowledge of other enterprise cloud platforms. Demonstrable skills in this area are essential.

A strong focus on security sensibilities is important. The role will require active positive ability to liaise with users from across the university and provide solutions as well as administer multiple diverse systems. Flexibility to travel between sites as required at short notice to resolve issues is also required for the role.

Supporting the Infrastructure Technical Lead and Senior Analysts within the team you will provide assistance in the delivery of the Infrastructure remit. The role will require proven skills in Windows server and cloud infrastructure management along with troubleshooting in this area. Additionally, you will be expected to provide third line support to local teams and Service Desk.

You will have a good eye for detail and problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, adaptability and a creative outlook and will be prepared to contribute to team discussions and solutions.

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be a self‑motivated individual, who is required to work on your own initiative and as part of the wider team, with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work and being able to work to deadlines. A full driving licence is desirable.
