Job summary

Tate in Southampton is seeking a Technical Service Engineer/Consultant to join its team. You will work across workshop, office and customer sites, delivering hands-on technical support for wastewater treatment systems and related equipment.

The role combines equipment assembly, installation, maintenance and optimisation with site visits, demonstrations and customer training. You will prepare technical reports, identify performance improvements and support business development.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Good IT skills with the ability to produce professional reports and documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites and working independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Building, assembling and testing equipment using mechanical and electrical components.

Our client is an international environmental solutions business that develops and supplies innovative, sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment and cleaning applications across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Technical Service Engineer/ Consultant to join their team.

This is a varied role combining technical support, customer engagement, equipment assembly, site visits, and system optimisation. You'll play a key role in helping customers achieve efficient, environmentally responsible operational outcomes while supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Role

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual who combines technical ability with excellent customer-facing skills.

Essential Requirements

• Commissioning, maintenance or troubleshooting of technical equipment.
• Delivering customer training or technical demonstrations.
• Marine or industrial sector experience.
