Recruitment Helpline Ltd invites applications for a dual-role Mobile Vehicle Technician and Technical Service Controller. The role combines office-based coordination with hands-on field servicing on cars and light commercial vehicles across Bristol and surrounding areas.

Immediate start available for a reliable technician ready to lead on-site service activities. You will support the service team, train junior technicians, and travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Strong organisational skills to manage priorities.
• Full UK driving license; applicants aged 24 or over for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key link between customers, the service team and mobile technicians, ensuring progress is monitored and communicated.
• Advise customers on required repairs, maintenance and service schedules.
• Provide updates and obtain authorisation for additional work; resolve queries to ensure excellent customer experience.
• Source and order parts; liaise with suppliers for pricing and availability.
• Provide technical guidance to mobile technicians and the service team as primary contact for queries.
• Travel to customer sites to carry out servicing and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high professional standard and in a safe manner.
• Lead, train and assist mobile technicians when required.
• Conduct onsite quality inspections to maintain company standards.
• Suggest improvements to procedures and systems for continuous enhancement.

Dual-Role Mobile Vehicle Technician / Technical Service Controller

Salary: £38,000 per annum

This is a Monday to Friday position with NO WEEKENDS.

The Company

They are an established independent company based in Kingswood, Bristol specialising in mobile servicing and repairs on light commercial vehicles for the fleet industry across Bristol and surrounding areas. They are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic who is reliable, conscientious and takes pride in delivering work to the highest standard, and who is comfortable working in an office-based capacity supporting the day-to-day running of the service operation in a dual-role position.

You will primarily be office-based, providing day-to-day administrative support to our small service team and mobile vehicle technicians. You will also spend time on the road carrying out servicing and repairs at customer sites, allowing you to remain hands-on while providing additional technician support during busy periods and holiday cover. As an experienced technician, you will also assist with the training of new technicians by delivering on-the-job training, sharing your knowledge and expertise, and helping them develop the technical skills and confidence needed to work independently and in line with our standards.

• Work in a safe, clean and responsible manner.
• Lead, train, develop and assist mobile technicians where required.
• Conduct onsite quality inspections to ensure company standards are maintained.
• Assist with improving procedures and systems by making recommendations for continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• Experience in carrying out diagnostic repairs and fault finding
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills
• Full UK driving license
