Job summary

Portable Power Technology in West Kingsdown, Kent, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to translate customer requirements into practical power solutions. You will be the trusted technical contact, assess applications, specify products, and provide quotations while supporting customers by phone and email.

The role involves hands-on testing, product input, order processing, and occasional travel to trade shows. A UK driving licence and strong electrical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of low voltage DC circuits, batteries and electrical principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Confidence troubleshooting technical problems and recommending practical solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to contribute across a small team and hold a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical contact for new and existing customers by phone and email.
• Assess applications and specify right products or complete systems.
• Prepare quotations and follow up opportunities to develop relationships.
• Support stock, testing, and attend trade shows when required.
