Job summary

Feather Grey Consulting Limited is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to cover the Midlands region from a home-based setup in the UK. You will engage with OEMs, engineers and distributors to understand requirements and propose suitable mechanical solutions, guiding projects from inquiry to delivery.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree (or higher) and proven consultative sales experience in technical sectors such as motion control or drive systems.

Qualifications

Do you have a degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics, coupled with proven experience in consultatively selling technical solutions, ideally in linear technology, drive technology or similar technical components? Does the idea of working in a dynamic, technology driven environment for a fast growing global business with exciting growth plans sound like a challenge you’d relish? We are proud again to be parterning with this well-established global engineering group, known for designing and manufacturing linear motion systems used across automation, rail, packaging, aerospace, medical and industrial environments. They are now looking to appoint a Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow their UK customer base.

The role

You will take responsibility for a UK territory (Midlands), working closely with OEMs, engineers and distributors to understand technical requirements and application challenges, recommend and configure appropriate mechanical solutions, support projects from initial enquiry through to delivery, develop existing relationships while identifying new opportunities, and represent the business at customer meetings, presentations and industry events. This is a role where you are trusted to manage your own pipeline and priorities.

What they are looking for

Degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering is essential. You will have experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or a customer-facing engineering role, with exposure to mechanical systems, motion control, drive systems or similar. You’ll be confident working with both technical and commercial stakeholders and able to manage multiple opportunities and longer sales cycles.
