Job summary
Automation Experts in Plymouth is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join a small, high-performing Business Development team. You will develop practical engineering solutions with customers, from costings and quotations to demonstrations and commissioning.
You will work across sales, engineering and technical development, producing CAD diagrams and supporting parts quotations while travelling within the UK and internationally.
Qualifications
- Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or applications engineering.
- Engineering background or degree with customer-facing interest.
- Comfort with CAD and technical information.
- Accurate costings and quotations preparation.
- Willing to travel within the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Produce product costings from Bills of Materials.
- Prepare quotations for standard and bespoke equipment.
- Speak directly with customers to understand their applications and requirements.
- Create CAD-based process diagrams to demonstrate equipment capabilities.
- Support spare parts quotations and sales order processing.
- Work closely with Engineering and technical teams to develop suitable solutions.
- Develop a strong practical understanding of the equipment.
- Progress towards carrying out customer demonstrations and commissioning.
- Identify commercial opportunities and contribute to business development.
