Job summary

Quest Technical Ltd is seeking a skilled Technical Sales Engineer for our Lancashire site. You will serve as a key technical and commercial liaison, translating customer needs into precise quotations and costings.

The role requires interpreting drawings and CAD models, developing labour and tooling costings, and coordinating with vendors to secure lead times. You will engage with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify requirements and support tender activity.

Qualifications

• Experience as Technical Sales Engineer with ability to interpret drawings and translate requirements into technical and commercial quotations.
• Ability to prepare accurate labour, material, tooling and routing costings.
• Experience with liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, lead times and clarifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit formal quotations and provide technical support through tender and quotation processes.
• Produce accurate technical and commercial quotations and pricing for customers.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models and customer requirements to support proposals.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers to obtain information and confirm lead times.

Technical Sales Engineer

We are working with an organisation who have been established for over 35 years and have gone from strength to strength. My client specialises in servicing a wide spectrum in all moulding materials. They are toolmakers and precision engineers specialising in the design and manufacture of all production tooling. We are currently looking for experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join this company based in Lancashire.

Key Requirements:

• Must have over 5 years working experience as a Technical Sales Engineer
• Must have experience to produce accurate, competitive technical and commercial quotations
• Experience with interpreting technical drawings, specifications, CAD models and customer requirements
• Experience with producing detailed labour, material, tooling, subcontract and other associated costings, including appropriate manufacturing routings.
• Expereince of liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, technical information, lead times and clarify requirements.
• Experience of conducting customer/site visits where required to assess project requirements
• Experience with preparing and submit formal quotations and provide technical support throughout the tender and quotation process.
• Experience with accurate quotation, costing and routing information within the company's ERP/MRP system.

Beneficial Requirements:

• A strong engineering or manufacturing background, ideally with time-served/shop-floor experience in machining, fabrication or a related engineering discipline
• Good understanding of CNC turning and milling principles, fabrication methods and general manufacturing processes
• Thorough understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing principles, tolerances, materials and manufacturing feasibility

Monday - Thursday: 7:30-16:00 and Friday 7:30 - 12:30
