Job summary

Quest Technical Ltd. is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our Lancashire-based team. The role involves delivering detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical decisions across multiple projects with travel for site surveys and installations as required.

The ideal candidate will have over five years in a Design Engineer role, strong 3D CAD skills, and some project management experience. A background in tooling and production engineering is advantageous, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Design Engineer required.
• Experience in a design/engineering office.
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (5+ years).
• Experience on projects with some project management ability.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and make technical decisions.
• Able to manage multiple project deliverables.
• Knowledge of materials including carbon steels, alloys and stainless steels.
• Willingness to travel for site surveys and installation support.

Design Engineer

We are working with an organisation who have been established for over 35 years and have gone from strength to strength. My client specialises in servicing a wide spectrum in all moulding materials. They are toolmakers and precision engineers specialising in the design and manufacture of all production tooling. We are currently looking for experienced Design Engineer to join this company based in Lancashire.

Key Requirements:

• Must have over 5 years working experience as a Design Engineer
• Experience within a design/engineering office is esstional
• Must be highly proficient with 3D CAD software over 5 years
• Experience of working on projects and some project management ability is required
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings, and BOM creation
• Ability to interpretate customer specifications and make decisions with technical information
• Ability to handle multiple project deliverables
• Knowledge of various engineering materials, including carbon steels, alloys and stainless steels
• Willing to travel for site surveys and installation support when required.

Beneficial Requirements:

• A good understanding of Autodesk Inventor modelling software.
• A good understanding Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of handling solutions / conveyor design is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• A good understanding of project management.
• Good time management
