Job summary

Quest Technical Ltd. is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to manage quotations, pricing and tender activities for projects in Lancashire.

You will interpret technical drawings and CAD models to align customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities, liaising with customers and suppliers to obtain price and lead-time data. The role offers an excellent base salary, opportunities for career progression, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer.
• Experience in producing accurate, competitive technical and commercial quotations.
• Experience interpreting drawings, CAD models and customer requirements.
• Experience costing labour, material, tooling and other costings with routings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare formal quotations for tenders and bids.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, technical information, and lead times.
• Conduct customer/site visits to assess project requirements and feasibility.
• Provide technical support throughout the tender and quotation process.

Technical Sales Engineer

We are working with an organisation who have been established for over 35 years and have gone from strength to strength. My client specialises in servicing a wide spectrum in all moulding materials. They are toolmakers and precision engineers specialising in the design and manufacture of all production tooling. We are currently looking for experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join this company based in Lancashire.

Key Requirements:

• Must have over 5 years working experience as a Technical Sales Engineer
• Must have experience to produce accurate, competitive technical and commercial quotations
• Experience with interpreting technical drawings, specifications, CAD models and customer requirements
• Experience with producing detailed labour, material, tooling, subcontract and other associated costings, including appropriate manufacturing routings.
• Expereince of liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, technical information, lead times and clarify requirements.
• Experience of conducting customer/site visits where required to assess project requirements
• Experience with preparing and submit formal quotations and provide technical support throughout the tender and quotation process.
• Experience with accurate quotation, costing and routing information within the company's ERP/MRP system.

Beneficial Requirements:

• A strong engineering or manufacturing background, ideally with time-served/shop-floor experience in machining, fabrication or a related engineering discipline
• Good understanding of CNC turning and milling principles, fabrication methods and general manufacturing processes
• Thorough understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing principles, tolerances, materials and manufacturing feasibility

Hours of work: 37 hours Monday - Thursday: 7:30-16:00 and Friday 7:30 - 12:30
