Job summary

CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) is seeking a Training & Competence Lead to ensure newly recruited technicians achieve Initial Operational Performance in a safe and compliant manner. In this role, you will lead their development from induction to operational readiness.

You will design assessments, maintain competence records, and liaise with stakeholders to align training with operational needs. A competitive salary of £46,000 per annum is offered along with various employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working in a safety-critical maintenance environment.
• Experience supporting or delivering technician development, assessment, or mentoring.
• Strong understanding of competence management in a safety-critical industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initial development journey for new technicians from induction to Initial Operational Performance.
• Design and oversee robust assessment and verification processes.
• Work closely with training providers to ensure alignment with operational needs.
