Light Fantastic Production Services Ltd is seeking a Technical Project Manager to act as the technical heartbeat behind live events. You will transform ambitious ideas into deliverable technical solutions and lead crews to deliver unforgettable experiences for clients.

The role requires hands-on involvement from initial client conversations through planning, delivery and on-site execution, ensuring safety, creativity, and on-budget delivery while maintaining high standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering technical projects within live events or production.
• Strong system design and implementation knowledge.
• Experience producing technical drawings, plots and H&S documentation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and design management software.
• Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and quotations.
• Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop technical teams.
• A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted client relationships and provide expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyse and refine client briefs, developing technical solutions with technical teams.
• Produce quotations, proposals, equipment specifications and project documentation.

The Role

This isn't just project management.

You'll be a technical expert involved from the very first client conversation, helping shape creative ideas into technically deliverable solutions before leading the project through planning, preparation and live delivery.

Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams, you'll ensure every project is delivered safely, creatively, on budget and to the exceptionally high standards we're known for.

You'll combine technical expertise with commercial awareness, balancing innovative ideas with practical delivery to create outstanding results for our clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build trusted client relationships, understand project objectives and provide expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyse, challenge and refine client briefs, developing creative technical solutions in collaboration with technical teams.
• Produce accurate quotations, proposals, equipment specifications, technical drawings and project documentation that deliver commercially effective solutions.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, logistics and technical resources from concept through completion.
• Lead, motivate and coordinate technical teams across multiple live events, ensuring departments work seamlessly together on-site.
• Adapt confidently to changing client requirements and live event challenges, keeping projects, budgets and teams on track.
• Champion the highest standards of safety, quality and technical excellence, while sharing your expertise to support the development of others.

What We're Looking For

You'll bring deep expertise in one core discipline of live event technology in either lighting, audio and/or video - along with a solid working knowledge across the wider technical landscape.

You'll also have:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering technical projects within live events or production.

Reports To:

Head of Projects

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility required due to our industry.

Location:

Hybrid, 3 days at our Borehamwood office with 2 days working remotely (after a short period of onsite training)

Salary:

£50-60k depending on experience

Holiday:

30 Days including Bank Holidays

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. To be considered, you must already have the legal right to work in the UK
