Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a proactive Technical Project Assistant to join our Infrastructure team. This permanent, full-time role is 37 hours a week with hybrid working, based in Buttershaw, Bradford with activities in Valley Park, Leeds.

You will work on-site and with stakeholders to support health and safety, audit compliance and project delivery. The role requires planning, collaboration and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Strong stakeholder management and ability to build relationships.
• Ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver results.
• Collaborative approach and teamwork.
• Confident influencing and negotiation skills.
• Experience in a commercially focused and/or regulated environment (desirable).
• Operational experience on the clean water network (desirable).
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Drive excellent standards in health, safety, risk management, and control of work to meet Yorkshire Water’s Safety Policy.
• Report accidents, hazards, near misses, and dangerous occurrences within required timescales.
• Work as part of the Infrastructure team to support wider team objectives through strong individual performance.
• On-site technical assurance and auditing.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and escalate health and safety issues during audits, with authority to stop work if necessary.
• Audit site resources, plant, and equipment to support contractor payment claims.
• Provide technical support and training based on audit findings.

Location: Hybrid working, Buttershaw, Bradford, from Summer 2026 Valley Park, Leeds. The role is predominantly site-based but we do have a hybrid working policy

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Where you fit in:

As our Technical Project Assistant, you will be:
