Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Principal to join our Civil and Structural Team in the UK. You will lead design work for power plants, HV projects, and interconnectors, delivering FEED and detailed civil/structural designs while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires Chartered or active progression toward CEng, strong knowledge of BS/Eurocodes, and experience with National Grid standards.

Qualifications

• In-depth civil/structural knowledge including load-bearing, materials, and design codes (BS, Eurocodes, NGTS).
• Quality management with clear reviews and approvals.
• CDM 2015 Designer experience.
• Knowledge of National Grid specs NGETSR137 & NGETSR188.

Responsibilities

• Project management of programme, budget, resources and quality plans.
• Proposal writing with compelling content and cost estimates.
• Lead FEED for structural components.
• Prepare drawings for planning, tender packages, and construction.
• Develop detailed civil/structural designs.
• Coordinate design across multidisciplinary teams.
• Draft detailed specifications.
• Evaluate existing structures for reuse.
• Ensure National Grid CDAE compliance.
