Job summary

Carlsberg Britvic is seeking a Technical Operator to oversee manufacturing processes, manage raw materials, and uphold quality and safety standards in a fast-paced facility in Rugby.

You will participate in continuous improvement, collaborate with multiple teams, and develop technical skills through hands-on operating and data analysis. This permanent role requires adaptability to day/night shifts on a 4-on, 4-off pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Understanding of health & safety, quality and food safety requirements.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage priorities.
• Effective communication across teams and departments.
• Detail-oriented with inventory control and production data.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient production of syrups and ingredients.
• Manage preparation, handling and control of raw materials per quality and safety standards.
• Support production plans with Raw Materials and Production teams to ensure material availability.
• Perform quality checks and inspections, escalating issues as needed.
• Use SAP and other systems to manage inventory, traceability, and stock control.
• Operate powered pallet trucks; perform pre-use safety checks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department, including 5S and zero losses.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and workplace safety.

Working Hours: 42 hours contract. Working 12 hour shifts, on a days and nights rotating 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. 4 x days (7am to 7pm), 4 x off, 4 x nights (7pm to 7am), 4 x off.

About The Role

Join Carlsberg Britvic as a Technical Operator and play a key role in producing the ingredients that help create some of the UK's most iconic drinks brands. This is a varied role where you'll oversee manufacturing processes, manage raw materials, maintain high quality and food safety standards, and support continuous improvement across the operation. An opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with systems and data, and improving day-to-day operations in a manufacturing environment while developing their technical skills and knowledge.

Role Responsibilities

• Operate and control manufacturing processes to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate production of syrups and ingredients required for production.
• Manage the preparation, handling and control of raw materials, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety and operational standards.
• Support production plans by working closely with Raw Materials, and Production teams to ensure materials and product are available when needed.
• Complete quality checks and inspections, escalating any issues and ensuring products meet required specifications.
• Use SAP and other business systems to manage inventory, product traceability and stock control activities.
• Operating powered pallet trucks where required, carrying out pre-use safety checks and inspections.
• Support continuous improvement activities, supporting Zero Loss, 5S and operational excellence initiatives across the department.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and workplace safety within all manufacturing areas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to improvement projects while supporting the development of colleagues and sharing best practice.

Experience And Key Attributes

• Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Understanding of health & safety, quality and food safety requirements within an operational setting.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage priorities and deliver results.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments.
• Versatile and responsive, with the ability to collaborate across various production areas and adjust to evolving business needs.
• Careful attention to detail and ease working with numbers, inventory control, and production data.
