Role Description

What you become part of:
Bradford site is the largest drinks operation within Princes producing a mix of Dilute to Taste (DTT), Carbonated, and Ready-to-drink soft drinks. Bradford is also home to Capri Sun, producing all their varieties and supplying the UK and Europe. To elevate our process systems to higher levels of reliability and flexibility, we are introducing the Technical Operator role with the right background to train at our Bradford site and lead this work within an autonomous team environment.

What to expect:
You will play a key role in operations supporting the effective training and upskilling of both Princes and agency staff, becoming a key part of a successful operations team. Working on a shift-based flexible 24/7 pattern, we aim to increase our maintenance technical skill set to add depth to our operational teams. The role will provide additional reliability support to our operations and engineering teams, KPI delivery, and plant improvements through CI tools and techniques to maximize performance and drive improvements. You will be supported to gain mechanical qualifications with an approved training supplier.

Key Deliverables

This role involves ensuring safe operations, maintaining audit readiness, understanding and executing strategic plans, and operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment and utilities. You will be the SME for your work area, focusing on efficiency and waste control, equipment availability, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and supporting new installations and process improvements. You will lead in developing SOPs, maintaining training matrices, and supporting site projects. Proactive working, CI focus, excellent communication, and leadership in process improvements are essential.

  • Ensure safety and hazard spotting using Talk Safe tools
  • Maintain GMP standards and audit readiness
  • Understand and deliver on Princes & Bradford strategy plans and values
  • Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment and utilities
  • Own department KPIs and help achieve targets
  • Deploy engineering skills to ensure equipment runs at OEM rated capacity
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibrations
  • Lead installation, modification, and improvement of machinery
  • Communicate effectively using various media
  • Lead/participate in RCA meetings and drive process improvements
  • Perform minor repairs and coordinate major repairs with engineering
  • Document activities and maintain SOPs and training matrices
  • Support site improvement projects
Role Requirements

Skills & Essentials:

  • GCSE Math and English Level 2 or equivalent
  • Good PC/IT skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAP, HMI, SCADA, or ability to learn
  • Machine operating, setting, adjustment, and maintenance skills
  • Ability to write and train SOPs
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing, shift-based work beneficial
  • Technical qualifications desirable but training will be provided, including attendance at college for apprenticeship completion
