Job summary

Kao Data is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead our Data Centre Operations and Integrated Facilities Management teams. You will report to the Technical Operations Director and oversee 7-24-365 activities, support budgets, and manage relationships with our outsourced facilities partner to ensure uptime and operational excellence.

Lead the development of SOPs/EOPs, drive incident response, and ensure SLA/KPI delivery across mechanical, electrical, and security infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer or suitably qualified experience.
• Extensive experience in managing critical infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data centre assets including cooling generation and distribution, LV and MV electrical, UPS, generators, fire detection and suppression, building management, security and connectivity.
• Data Centre Technical Operational Management experience in the outsourcing market or related technology service provider fields within mission critical environments.
• Experience in managing operations and support teams for large enterprise.
• Budgetary management.
• A proven track record in customer and operational service delivery.
• Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project and SharePoint.
• Perform the Process Owner role for key Engineering processes: asset, maintenance, change, event, incident, energy management and problem management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Operations Director enabling successful delivery to Kao Data’s client base and meet contractual reporting obligations.
• Understand all mechanical, electrical and security infrastructure to achieve 100% availability.
• Oversee data centre critical physical infrastructure and day-to-day operation of M&E plant and equipment.
• Ensure outsourced facilities management meets SLA and KPI targets.
• Develop SOPs and EOPs with the outsourced team.
• Lead incidents and support on-call rota.
• Support incident management and customer-facing escalation meetings.
• Manage BMS/Controls graphics and sensor calibration accuracy.
• Drive strategic vision for data centre operations across assets.
