Sandwell Council is seeking a detail‑oriented Technical Officer (Subsidy) to join our Revenues and Benefits Service at Sandwell Council House, Oldbury. You will provide specialist support to maximise subsidy income while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role covers housing benefit subsidy matters, subsidy returns, technical investigations, audits, and producing management information; you will guide colleagues and collaborate with operations to meet service standards.

Job title: Technical Officer (Subsidy)

Grade/Salary: Band E, SCP 18-25 (£31,537 to £36,363 per annum)

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours, Monday - Friday

Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth St Oldbury B69 3DE

We're looking for a detail-oriented Technical Officer (Subsidy) to join our Revenues and Benefits Service.

You will be responsible for providing specialist support across the Revenues and Benefits Service, helping to ensure the Council maximises subsidy income while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

This role is key to ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements, where you’ll work alongside operational teams, provide technical advice, undertake detailed subsidy analysis and support the delivery of accurate subsidy returns.

Your key responsibilities will include:
