Job summary

Sandwell Council’s Place Division seeks a detail-oriented Pride in Place Programme Officer to join the Regeneration & Growth team on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 2 years, based at Oldbury. The role involves coordinating projects, providing secretariat support, and delivering community engagement activities.

You’ll work closely with the Regeneration Programme Manager, handle governance, monitor budgets and performance, and maintain information and communications for stakeholders, residents

Grade/Salary: Band F, SCP 26-31 (£37,280 - £41,771 per annum)

Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term for 2 years

Working Pattern: 37 Hours, Monday - Friday

Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth St Oldbury B69 3DE

Sandwell Council’s Place Division is seeking a detail-oriented Programme Officer to join its Regeneration & Growth, Regeneration team on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 2 years, to be based from its Oldbury office. The organisation works to a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The role will support the delivery of an ambitious neighbourhood regeneration programme. Working closely with the Regeneration Programme Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating projects, supporting governance arrangements, managing programme information, and helping to deliver meaningful community engagement activities.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide secretariat support to the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board, organise events and workshops, maintain communication materials and online content, monitor project delivery and grant funding, and help ensure robust programme governance and compliance. You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, councillors, community groups, partners, and government bodies.

We're seeking someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and experience of providing formal Board secretariate support, managing information, reporting, and stakeholder relationships. You'll be confident using digital systems and spreadsheets, capable of handling multiple priorities, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that make a real difference to local communities.
