Sandwell Council's Digital Services team within our IT Division is seeking an experienced Business Systems Manager on a full-time, permanent basis, to be based from its Oldbury office. The organisation works to a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The role will lead the support, development and continuous improvement of a portfolio of business-critical applications that support Adult Social Care and Regulatory Services.

  • Educated to degree level in IT, business or information management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing complex business applications and support services.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Grade/Salary: Band H, SCP 38-43 (£49,282 - £54,495 per annum)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 Hours, Monday - Friday

Location: Sandwell Council House, Freeth St Oldbury B69 3DE

Sandwell Council's Digital Services teamwithin our IT Divisionis seeking an experienced Business Systems Manager on a full-time, permanent basis, to be based from its Oldbury office. The organisation works to a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The role will lead the support, development and continuous improvement of a portfolio of business-critical applications that support Adult Social Care and Regulatory Services.

This is a key leadership role within Digital Services, responsible for ensuring that application services remain reliable, secure and aligned to the needs of frontline services. Working closely with service managers, users, suppliers and colleagues across the Council, you will help drive service improvement, digital transformation and the effective use of technology to support residents and communities.

  • LAS Adults Case Management System and LAS Citizen Portals
  • OneTouch Healthcare Home Care Scheduling System
  • Person Centred Care- Digital Care Records
  • Locata Capacity Management
  • e-Brokerage Marketplace System
Adult Social Care (Finance)
  • ContrOCC Finance and Charging System CASPAR
  • Appointeeship System
Regulatory Services
  • CIVICA CX Regulated Services
  • Rocktime/Verso Taxi Licensing
The Role
  • Lead a portfolio of Adult Social Care and Regulatory Services applications.
  • Manage and develop a team of application specialists.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and service areas.
  • Drive service improvements, upgrades, projects and application roadmaps.
  • Ensure effective governance, performance, resilience and support arrangements. Contribute to the Council's wider digital transformation ambitions.
About you
  • Educated to degree level in an IT, Business, Information Management or related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing complex business applications and support services.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with suppliers and delivering service improvements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, customer-focused digital services.
