Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the Accessible Homes and TEC Hub. You will help the team deliver home adaptations for residents, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes and value for money.

Joining a multidisciplinary team, you will lead technical staff, collaborate with caseworkers and therapists, and drive continuous improvement across housing services. Hybrid working arrangements are available, with a focus on resident-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong construction, building, surveying, housing or property expertise.
• Experience leading, supporting and developing technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, compliance and health and safety.
• Experience managing contractors, quality and performance.
• Excellent judgement, communication and partnership-working skills.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the technical team delivering adaptations across public and private sector homes.
• Oversee technical standards, contractor performance and quality assurance.
• Manage risk, service performance and delivery of the adaptations programme and budget.
• Collaborate with caseworkers, occupational therapists and colleagues across Adult Social Care.
