Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Technical Lead - Temporary Works to provide technical leadership across the business and drive excellence in temporary works engineering. The role sits in the Temporary Works CoE and acts as the technical authority for temporary works design.

You will shape standards, lead governance, and champion innovation across projects and design teams, developing capability and ensuring robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IStructE or equivalent.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Extensive experience in temporary works design, assurance and engineering governance.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as BAM UK's technical authority for temporary works design.
• Provide expert guidance and assurance on complex and high-risk engineering challenges.
• Lead technical governance, audits and design assurance activities across the business.
• Develop and maintain temporary works standards, procedures and best practice.
• Drive engineering excellence, quality and continuous improvement.
• Lead competency, training and professional development programmes for temporary works designers.
• Support recruitment, succession planning and capability development within the Temporary Works CoE.
• Oversee technical performance and assurance of external design partners.
• Champion innovation, digital engineering and new approaches to temporary works delivery.
