Job summary
Virgin Active in the United Kingdom seeks a hands-on Technical Lead – Longevity to guide the technical direction of our longevity proposition across mobile apps, backend services and APIs. You will mentor engineers and drive secure, scalable solutions in Azure with C#/.NET, APIs and integrations.
You will collaborate across product and data teams to deliver world-class digital experiences, maintain high engineering standards, and champion DevOps practices in a fast-growing wellness platform.
Qualifications
- Significant software engineering experience with a Technical Lead or Engineering Lead role.
- Experience leading engineers and setting technical direction across the full stack.
- Strong hands-on experience with mobile applications and backend services.
- Backend development experience using C# and .NET, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, integrations and scalable system architecture.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with backend and third‑party services.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction and delivery of the longevity proposition across mobile apps, backend services, APIs and integrations.
- Solve complex technical challenges and guide engineers to build secure, reliable and scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
