Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking a Technical Lead – Longevity to join our Digital & Technology Transformation Team. In this permanent full-time role, you will lead the technical direction and delivery of our longevity proposition across our mobile app and backend services.

Your expertise in software engineering and experience with mobile applications and backend development using C# and .NET will be essential, as you address complex challenges and guide a talented team of engineers.

You will lead the technical direction and delivery of our longevity proposition across our mobile app, backend services, APIs and integrations. This is a hands‑on role where you will solve complex technical challenges, guide engineers and ensure we build secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

The Role

• Significant software engineering experience, including experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Lead.
• Experience leading engineers and setting technical direction across the full stack.
• Strong hands‑on experience with mobile applications and backend services.
• Backend development experience using C# and .NET, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, integrations and scalable system architecture.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with backend and third‑party services.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and DevOps practices.
• A collaborative approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Azure integration services or scaling engineering teams and codebases would be advantageous.
