Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Proven experience at Senior Engineer or Technical Lead level.
  • Strong experience with .NET Core, C#, and SQL.
  • Experience delivering distributed systems and modern architectures.
  • Solid understanding of Agile software delivery.
  • Ability to influence teams without direct line management.
  • Hands-on with Git and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering best practices and quality standards.
  • Lead by contributing production code of high quality.
  • Refactor existing systems and tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Make architectural decisions and define scalable solutions.
  • Mentor engineers via code reviews, pair programming, and design discussions.
  • Support work planning, delivery management, and remove blockers.
  • Help grow the capabilities of the wider engineering team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes.

Location: Manchester | Working Pattern: Hybrid | Salary: £85,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Engineering Technical Lead looking to shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence within a modern technology environment? This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing internal technology function, helping to build high-quality software solutions while influencing engineering standards, architecture, and delivery practices.

  • Experience designing and delivering distributed systems and modern application architectures.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software delivery environments.
  • Experience influencing engineering teams without formal line management responsibility.
  • Hands‑on experience with Git and cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience leading engineering transformation initiatives.
  • Background in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Exposure to cloud‑native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience establishing technical standards and engineering governance.
