Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, build and deliver modern cloud-native applications while remaining hands-on across the delivery lifecycle.

In a hybrid Manchester role with travel to client sites across the UK, you will lead engineering teams, mentor developers, shape engineering best practices and collaborate with architects, product owners and stakeholders to deliver scalable digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Senior-level software engineering experience across frontend and backend stacks.
• Proficient in cloud-native architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi) and modern tooling.
• Strong focus on software security, performance and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver modern software applications across frontend, backend or full-stack environments.
• Lead engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentoring and code reviews.
• Develop cloud-native applications using modern engineering practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery.

The Role

Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help clients build scalable, secure and high-performing digital products while promoting engineering excellence and modern development practices.
