Technical Host Role

I am looking for a Technical Host to support regular training courses held on Zoom. These courses are conducted throughout the year and typically last two or three days.

The three-day courses are scheduled on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Friday, Saturday, Sunday, so weekend availability is essential. The two-day courses usually occur on Thursday & Friday.

To effectively facilitate these full-day sessions, you must commit to the entire course and have a quiet workspace free from interruptions, as focus is critical. You should be highly organized and present during hosting to ensure smooth operation. Prior to each course, you will join an alignment call with the course leaders, usually around 90 minutes, a few days before the start.

Responsibilities

Your role as a virtual tech host includes managing technical aspects such as attendance, chat, breakout rooms, sharing presentations, using virtual whiteboards, broadcasting messages, timing during breakouts, and supporting the course flow alongside the leaders. You will mostly be off-camera and muted but may need to appear on camera and speak to participants if support is required.

Technical Specification (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

• Excellent internet connection (a secondary connection is advisable for emergencies)
• Windows 10 or latest Mac OS
• Ability to use Snip It for high-quality screenshots

Hours

Courses run from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 90-minute lunch break and short morning and afternoon breaks. You will be required to be available for an hour before and 30 minutes after each session. Occasionally, you may need to meet briefly with leaders during breaks. The workload varies, with approximately 20 hours for a two-day course and 30 hours for a three-day course per month. Payments are made on an ad-hoc basis after each course.
