Job summary

Veolia Group in Portsmouth is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance, inspect and test safety systems, and support site operations. You will work 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri, at the Portsmouth location.

Ideal candidates have experience with hand/power tools, build fabric repairs, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. DBS clearance is expected, and training opportunities are available within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass DBS check.
• Experience using hand/power tools, ability to complete simple building fabric repairs and maintenance.
• Experience identifying issues and finding practical solutions with support of the maintenance team.
• Dexterity, coordination, and physical fitness.
• Communication, teamwork, time management, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
• Competence with basic software and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out scheduled and reactive general maintenance tasks, assisting with keeping technical areas clean, safe and operational.
• Preventative Checks: Conducting routine inspections, meter readings and servicing to prevent breakdowns.
• Portable Appliance testing.
• Fire Alarm & Emergency light testing
• Completing tasks efficiently and moving between jobs as priorities change.
• Responding to service desk requests in line with site KPI's.
• Completing any reasonable request to support the site operations.
• Compliance: Following health & safety regulations and maintaining standards.
• Site Support: Support the technical services department escort and supervise contractors on site.
