Job Description
My client is seeking an experienced Battery Energy Storage Scheme Design Manager to join a fully integrated design and construction business that leverages contracting strength and design expertise on a global scale. You will lead a team delivering a growing programme of projects in the Battery Energy Storage System market, integrating core design teams with expertise from across global regions.
The Role
- As part of our Senior Leadership Team, develop strong relationships with clients to ensure our work exceeds their expectations, delivering for their customers and the environment.
- Accountable for health and safety, project, and financial performance, while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensure the business meets its obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (2015) as the Principal Designer and Designer.
- Play a key role in setting the team culture focused on safety, wellbeing, client satisfaction, and a positive work environment.
- Manage the team’s people strategy, including recruitment, retention, staff development, competence, and performance management to support current and future growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualification (or equivalent) in engineering or science.
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).
- Experience managing and developing a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
- Proven track record in delivering design projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards within a design & build environment.
- Competent project management skills with knowledge of civil and electrical construction methods at all voltage levels.
- Experience delivering major projects from concept to completion.
- Highly skilled electrical network design engineer with experience at transmission level and within DNO environments.
- Experience designing at all voltage levels from LV to 400kV systems.
- Experience in designing new connections (contestable and non-contestable works) and discretionary capital projects. Ability to tender large, complex projects.
