About the role

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join Cero Generation’s Procurement and Project Delivery (PPD) Team as a Technical Delivery Manager (BESS). You will support the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy. The PPD team handles the commercialization of ‘Ready to Build’ projects, including bringing projects to Financial Close and into construction.

The position involves supporting on technical and commercial engineering of BESS projects across Cero’s markets, based in London, with travel as needed.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborating with project teams to commercialize storage and co-located projects, supporting technical delivery from RTB to FC.
2. Working with the Project Development team to ensure all Transaction Ready deliverables are met.
3. Providing technical guidance on BESS specifications, layout, constraints, and design parameters.
4. Supporting procurement by onboarding suppliers and maintaining the BESS product whitelist.
5. Managing external technical advisors for BESS contracts.
6. Optimizing BESS layout and design with engineering support.
7. Negotiating BESS SCA, EPC, and LTSA contracts.
8. Leading negotiations of technical schedules for construction and operation contracts.
9. Defining interfaces between BESS, PV, Grid, and RtM systems.
10. Contributing to Owner's Engineer and quality assurance processes.
11. Conducting site visits and preparing technical specifications for EPC tenders.
12. Updating BESS Employer’s Requirements and managing technical schedules.
13. Interacting with internal teams across functions.
14. Reviewing quotations focusing on technical aspects and supporting budgeting.

About you

To succeed, you should have:

1. Experience in engineering consultancy, development, or contracting with a technical focus.
2. Strong technical knowledge of renewable energies, especially BESS.
3. Ability to balance technical risks with commercial considerations.
4. Experience negotiating technical schedules in BESS contracts.
5. Capability to coordinate and review due diligence workstreams.
6. Experience working across multiple countries and projects in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent presentation skills and fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
