Technical Data Specialist

Contract onsite in London | Day rate: £650 - £858 per day | inside IR35

We are currently seeking an accomplished and highly ambitious Technical Data Specialist to work with our exceptional client, a world-class brand, in a secure environment to drive major business transformation, process, and technical change across this complex organization.

This contract role requires security clearance prior to assignment. The environment is extraordinary, so we are looking for extraordinary talent.

The Technical Data Specialist sets the vision for the organization's use of data (through data design) to ensure proper data management that meets organizational needs. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver data architecture supporting various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop strategic/conceptual data architecture; understand data assets and set strategies for standards to ensure interoperability.
2. Collaborate with partners to agree on and promote relevant data standards and patterns.
3. Work with delivery teams to ensure data interoperability and quality.
4. Contribute to the data office’s strategy and the broader data architecture initiatives across data management.
5. Support migration to the Cloud, implementing a more data-centric and interoperable architecture.

Experience:

• Data Modelling: Developed physical, logical, or conceptual data models; designed databases; produced data flow diagrams; worked with ontologies or knowledge graphs; used UML/Visio/Express-G/Sparx or other modelling tools.
• Data Standards: Developed data standards for interoperability; authored technical specifications; ensured systems adhered to standards; championed data standards.
• Metadata Management: Designed and developed data catalogues or metadata repositories; used tools like Apache Atlas, Hive Metastore, AWS Glue, AWS Datazone.
• Data Design: Designed data lakes, data warehouses, data lakehouses, data pipelines, data meshes, or data marketplaces.
