Job summary

Vistry Group is seeking a Technical Coordinator to join the South West Midlands team in Coleshill. You will coordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments, ensuring approvals and information are issued for a prompt start on site.

The role requires experience in architecture or civil engineering, particularly within residential housing, and a strong ability to manage plans, buildability, and regulatory approvals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in architecture or civil engineering within residential housing.
• Strong planning and regulatory approvals experience (Section 38 & 104).
• Attention to detail and ability to challenge decisions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical information between external consultants and internal teams.
• Ensure all approvals are obtained and information issued for on-site start.
• Attend progress meetings and support planning and buildability reviews.
• Manage drawings/documents and liaise with Contracts Manager on warranties and bonds.
• Support Commercial and Buying teams with design information and cost-effective design control.

As our Technical Coordinator, you will co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments throughout the design and construction process. You will ensure all approvals are obtained and information received and issued to allow for a prompt start on site. What we would like from you

• Proven working experience in Architecture / Civil Engineering
• Previous experience in Residential Housing sector
• Proficient in regulatory approvals including all section agreements (section 38 &section 104 designs)

Desirable

• Degree or similar qualification in Construction Management / Civil Engineering/ Architecture or other related discipline would be beneficial

More about the Technical Coordinator role

• Comply with the company Life of Site processes.
• Ensure all drawings and details are accurate and commercially suitable throughout the design and construction phase stages.
• Attend and contribute to progress meetings on site as required.
• Co-ordinate the planning process where required and review planning approval to ensure conditions are addressed prior to start on site
• Agree construction specification, SAP and bream strategy for the project
• Coordinate the submission of a Building Control, Warranty applications and supporting documentation
• Liaise with consultants and attend meetings to progress all relevant Technical matters
• Assist Commercial and Buying teams in review and approval of subcontractor design information.
• Ensure accurate and on time design information in line with client requirements
• Ensure cost effective design control and buildability
• Maintain and manage all current drawings/documents/information for all new build contracts on the Viewpoint Platform.
• Review and check contract documentation, warranties and bond requirements in liaison with Contracts Manager.
• Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Designs and ground remediation.
• Co-ordinate Temporary Works designs.
• Attend site visits and meetings in order to solve issues that arise during the construction process.
• Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required
• Any other duty as deemed necessary.
