Job summary

Travail Employment Group is looking for an experienced Technical Coordinator in Wombwell, near Barnsley, to manage technical and drawing activities on structural steel projects. The role involves collaborating with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and the Drawing Office to keep programmes on track.

With a minimum of 5 years in structural steel and Tekla Structures, you will coordinate drawings, oversee BIM requirements, and liaise on fabrication and erection schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience within the structural steelwork industry.
• Minimum 5 years' experience using Tekla Structures.
• Strong knowledge of steel detailing and BIM processes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience coordinating technical teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawing office activities across multiple projects.
• Review design drawings and raise technical queries (RFIs).
• Manage design changes and project variations.
• Oversee BIM requirements and project compliance.
• Coordinate external detailing and subcontract resources.
• Liaise with Project Managers on fabrication and erection programmes.
• Attend client design team meetings and internal project reviews.
• Monitor project progress and issue regular updates.

Our client delivers projects ranging from commercial buildings to complex engineering structures and they are looking for an experienced Technical Coordinator to join their Drawing Office.

As a Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the technical and drawing activities on structural steel projects. Working closely with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, and the Drawing Office team, you will help keep projects on track and delivered to programme.

Duties include;
