Job summary

TSR Select is recruiting a Senior Technical Lead to manage a portfolio of client environments, combining hands-on engineering with project delivery and consultancy. You will design, deploy and support Microsoft 365 and Azure, manage Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online security, and lead complex technical escalations.

You will scope and deliver infrastructure projects, mentor teams, and develop infrastructure roadmaps while communicating with IT managers and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in technical IT roles.
• 2+ years at third-line or consultancy level within an MSP.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Exchange Online experience.
• Practical Azure infrastructure experience, including VMs, storage, networking and backup.

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying, migrating and supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Managing Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Exchange Online security and tenant hardening.
• Supporting Azure infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, wireless and multi-site connectivity.
• Taking ownership of complex technical escalations and troubleshooting issues through to root cause.
• Scoping, designing and delivering infrastructure projects, including Azure migrations, network changes and device replacement programmes.
• Acting as the senior technical contact for clients, leading technical meetings and developing infrastructure roadmaps.
• Using PowerShell to automate administration, configuration and reporting.
• Working with backup and security platforms and Cyber Essentials requirements.
• Supporting proposals, technical recommendations and identifying opportunities to improve client environments.

Description:

This opportunity is to join a Cloud Services Provider, run by Directors who have previously built up, and successfully run and sold MSP’s; and this is their new venture. They are really nice guys, with lots of industry experience and contacts, passionate about growing businesses and helping customers.

The business is 3 years old, already 16 people, producing £3.5m turnover, and on an upward growth trajectory. Their target market and current client base ranges from 20-3,000 users. They focus primarily on the M in SME (midmarket, several hundred users).

You will act as a senior technical lead for a portfolio of clients, combining hands‑on third‑line engineering with project delivery and technical consultancy.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Microsoft 365 & Azure: Designing, deploying, migrating and supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Identity & Security: Managing Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Exchange Online security and tenant hardening.
• Infrastructure & Networking: Supporting Azure infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, wireless and multi‑site connectivity.
• Third-Line Support: Taking ownership of complex technical escalations and troubleshooting issues through to root cause.
• Project Delivery: Scoping, designing and delivering infrastructure projects, including Azure migrations, network changes and device replacement programmes.
• Client Consultancy: Acting as the senior technical contact for clients, leading technical meetings and developing infrastructure roadmaps.
• Automation: Using PowerShell to automate administration, configuration and reporting.
• Security & Backup: Working with Veeam, Azure Backup, security platforms and Cyber Essentials requirements.
• Pre-Sales: Supporting proposals, technical recommendations and identifying opportunities to improve client environments.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 5 years' experience in technical IT roles, including 2+ years at third-line or consultancy level within an MSP.
• Strong hands‑on Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Exchange Online experience.
• Practical Azure infrastructure experience, including virtual machines, storage, networking and backup.
• Good networking knowledge covering firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and wireless.
• Experience with backup solutions, ideally Veeam.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Proven experience scoping and delivering technical projects.
• Confident communicating with IT Managers, Heads of IT and senior stakeholders.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
