Job description

Technical Communications & Marketing Coordinator

Location: Oxford (Hybrid & Flexible Working)

Salary: £45,000+ depending on experience

Job Type: Full-Time

Do you enjoy turning complex technical ideas into engaging stories that people actually want to read?

Would you love the opportunity to take ownership of marketing communications within an innovative, growing technology business?

Are you looking for a role where you can combine creativity, technical curiosity and strategic thinking to make a real impact?

If so, this could be exactly what you're looking for!

Our client is an ambitious, forward-thinking technology company developing advanced solutions with exciting real-world applications.

They're looking for a Technical Communications & Marketing Coordinator to bring their innovations to life through compelling content, engaging campaigns and memorable events.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside talented engineers, researchers and commercial teams, helping to shape how the business communicates its expertise, achievements and future ambitions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, creative freedom and the chance to make a visible difference within a growing organisation.

Why This Role is Great

This is much more than a traditional marketing coordinator position. You'll have the opportunity to influence how an innovative business tells its story, connects with audiences and strengthens its market presence.

Here's what makes the opportunity exciting:
  • Bring technical innovation to life: Transform fascinating technical developments into accessible, engaging articles, case studies, presentations and marketing content.
  • Own creative communications: Develop compelling content across websites, social media, newsletters, email campaigns and digital marketing channels.
  • Work with brilliant technical minds: Collaborate with engineering, R&D and commercial specialists to uncover interesting stories and communicate their impact.
  • Make events memorable: Take ownership of coordinating exhibitions, industry conferences, customer events and internal activities, including international arrangements where needed.
  • Help shape the brand: Support marketing campaigns, internal communications and employee engagement initiatives that strengthen the organisation's identity.
  • Turn insights into opportunities: Explore market trends, competitor activity and campaign performance to identify new ways of reaching and engaging audiences.
  • Grow your influence: Take ownership of projects, contribute fresh ideas and develop your expertise as the business continues to expand.

You'll enjoy a varied position where no two days are quite the same, with plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and see the results of your work.

About You

You'll thrive in this position if you're a creative communicator who enjoys understanding complex subjects and making them accessible to different audiences.

Our client would love to hear from candidates who can bring a combination of:

  • Experience creating engaging technical, corporate or B2B marketing communications across multiple channels.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, particularly when communicating technical or scientific information.
  • Confidence collaborating with engineers, technical specialists and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with digital marketing, website content management, social media, email marketing and analytics.
  • Organisational skills and an ability to balance multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Exposure to events, exhibitions, conferences or trade shows.
  • An interest in developing internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Experience in a technical, engineering, scientific or innovative business environment.
  • An enthusiastic, proactive approach to identifying new marketing and communication opportunities.
Even better if you've worked with:
  • CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Graphic design tools and visual content creation.
  • Technical institutions or specialist technology communities.
  • Marketing budgets, campaign reporting and performance analysis.

You don't need to tick every box. If you've developed strong communication skills in a related environment and are excited about translating complex ideas into compelling content, we'd love to hear from you.

What's In It for You?

Alongside a starting salary of £45,000+, our client offers an excellent benefits package designed to support your career, wellbeing and work-life balance.

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Company share option scheme
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance and income protection
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Employer pension contributions matched up to 5%
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Funded opportunities for further study, training and professional development
  • Volunteering opportunities

You'll be joining an organisation that values fresh ideas, collaboration and professional growth, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as you develop.

The role is based in Oxford, with a hybrid working arrangement that includes regular on-site collaboration.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to complete BPSS security screening as part of the recruitment process.
