Job summary

MorePeople is assisting a growing consumer products business in Welwyn to find a Technical Coordinator for its Quality Assurance team. The role covers product compliance, supplier management, testing programmes and environmental responsibilities across multiple markets.

You will support external testing bodies, monitor UK/EU regulatory changes, and maintain Declarations of Conformity and compliance records while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams on testing and packaging standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience within quality assurance, technical compliance, product compliance or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of product regulatory requirements and compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU regulations such as GPSR, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, EMC and Toy Safety requirements.
  • Experience managing technical documentation, testing reports and compliance records.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, external testing bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with environmental compliance requirements including EPR, PPT, WEEE or related regulations would be advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness and a commitment to maintaining high quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting product compliance approvals through external testing and certification bodies such as SGS, Eurofins and Intertek.
  • Monitoring changes in UK and EU product legislation and supporting regulatory compliance activities.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, Declarations of Conformity and compliance records.
  • Liaising with suppliers and overseas teams to obtain compliance documentation, test reports and technical specifications.
  • Coordinating product testing programmes, managing sample submissions and supporting quality inspections.
  • Monitoring product development and APQP schedules to ensure launch and shipment deadlines are met.
  • Supporting investigations into product failures, customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Reviewing packaging, labelling, manuals and warranty information to ensure regulatory and retailer compliance.
  • Managing artwork approval processes with internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting environmental compliance initiatives including EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax, WEEE and battery regulations.
  • Maintaining compliance records, packaging data and reporting documentation for audits and regulatory submissions.
  • Working closely with suppliers to improve packaging sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
  • Supporting audits, retailer compliance reviews and continuous improvement projects across the business.
  • Assisting with company exhibitions, merchandising activities and showroom support when required.

We're working with a well-established and growing consumer products business looking to add a Technical Coordinator to its Quality Assurance team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll support product compliance, supplier management, testing programmes and environmental responsibilities, helping to ensure products meet legal, customer and business requirements across multiple markets.

This opportunity would suit someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and an interest in product quality, compliance and continuous improvement within a busy consumer products environment.

What You'll Be Doing
