Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Technical Author on behalf of one of our clients. The role focuses on creating clear, user-friendly documentation for software and systems, translating complex technical information into accessible guides for sales, technical and operations teams.

You will work with subject matter experts to gather data, structure manuals, and maintain documentation repositories.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably including software development.
• Experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
• Experience working with technology to improve user experience: design, UI and help refine content.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex software.
• Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive documentation that meets internal standards.
• Translate complex product information into simple, polished content for target audiences.
• Write user-friendly content for sales, technical and operations teams.
• Develop and maintain databases of reference materials and design specifications.
• Collaborate with Sales, Technology and Operations to understand project requirements.
