Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking a Technical Author for our Severn Beach, Bristol site on a permanent basis. You will create and refine highly technical documentation, prioritising content validation and review, collaborating with engineers and technicians across departments.

You will use MadCap Flare and Framemaker to publish manuals, edit CAD drawings, and respond to product queries. This role requires on-site presence at least three days a week and a strong commitment to safety

Qualifications

• Recognised technical authoring qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum experience of two years in a technical author role.
• Proficiency with MadCap Flare, FrameMaker or Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Publish customer manuals using Framemaker and Flare.
• Develop clear, concise documentation for users.
• Validate technical details with engineers and technicians.
• Peer review content written by team members.
• Edit CAD drawings and images used in docs.
• Answer technical product queries with engineers.
