Job summary

Renishaw plc is seeking a technical writer to develop and maintain user-facing documentation for the Intelligent Metrology software portfolio, MODUS IM. You will create modular, reusable content and collaborate with product owners, SMEs, and software developers across locations.

The role requires strong written communication, attention to detail, and an interest in multilingual content and localisation. Hybrid work with at least three days on-site in the UK is available.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain user-facing documentation (Help systems, release notes, datasheets, and technical content).
  • Apply best-practice authoring techniques to develop modular, reusable content.
  • Structure and organise documentation for diverse user groups.
  • Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, support teams, and developers to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Follow and contribute to documentation standards, style guides, terminology, and processes.
  • Review and advise on user-facing text within software applications.
  • Manage localisation activities (localisation engineering and language pack verification).
  • Handle a varied workload across multiple projects.
  • Interview SMEs effectively to gather information.
  • Develop awareness of current trends and best practices in technical communication.
