Job summary

Zest Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a London-based food manufacturer for a Technical Assistant to join the Quality and Technical team.

You will broaden exposure across food safety, quality systems, auditing and continuous improvement in a fast-paced site. The role supports QA/QC activities, audits, testing and collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA, QC or technical role in food manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS).
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confidence working closely with production and operational teams.
• Food Science or Food Technology qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out GMP, fabrication and internal audits across the site.
• Support microbiological sampling, swabbing and quality testing activities.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.
• Complete CCP verification and validation activities.
• Review production paperwork and report non-conformances.
• Conduct traceability exercises, temperature audits and quality checks.
• Support supplier quality activities and raw material assessment.
• Coach and support operational teams on quality standards and best practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with QA, QC or Technical experience within food manufacturing who is looking to broaden their exposure across food safety, quality systems, auditing and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

About You

• Experience within a QA, QC or Technical role in food manufacturing.

Salary: Up to £36,000 + potential bonus

Shift Pattern: Flexible rota across Monday to Saturday.
