Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a senior hands-on technical lead to own the architecture and resilience of restaurant technology across the UK, France, Spain and Germany. You will act as the technical authority for our estate, ensuring POS, payments, networks, kiosks, digital boards and in-store infrastructure are stable and well-documented.

• Experience in restaurant/retail/hospitality tech environments.
• Experience supporting large multi-site environments where uptime is critical.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical dependencies.
• Ability to challenge suppliers and weak technical designs.
• Ability to create clear architecture, configuration and support documentation.
• Ability to make decisions quickly during live operational issues.
• Experience with NCR Aloha or a comparable restaurant/retail POS platform is highly desirable.
• Multi-country experience is useful.
• French, Spanish or German language skills are useful.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture, standards and operational resilience of restaurant technology across the UK, France, Spain and Germany.
• Act as the technical authority for restaurant technology across the estate.
• Own the technical stability of systems including POS, payments, restaurant networks, kiosks, digital menu boards, order-ready boards, CCTV, integrations and other in-store infrastructure.
• Support major incidents and identify root causes behind outages.
• Drive permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Review supplier configurations and technical designs.
• Define standards for new openings and technology rollouts.
• Ensure systems are properly documented and supportable before deployment.
