About the role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Technical and Bids Writer to join our internal commercial team. This person will be responsible for producing clear, compelling, written technical content that supports business development and marketing efforts. They will be able to translate complex technical ideas into persuasive bid responses, case studies, and marketing copy tailored to client and commercial needs. We are looking for a strategic thinker who loves writing and can work first-hand with subject matter experts to understand complex solutions and technical information and articulate these into a concise and engaging narrative. You will need strong attention to detail and be able to identify where responses can be improved and implement edits to add that value. Whilst homing in on technical details, you will need to weave in win themes to write fully rounded proposals that meet the client’s ask. Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of the public sector and technology consulting, in areas such as cloud, DevOps, platforms, and software engineering, and delivery within it.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation and Management:

• Develop original, persuasive written bid content that meets customer requirements
• Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Own and manage the Bid Library, keeping content up-to-date, and ensuring that stored content is still relevant.
• Create reusable standardised written content for frequently asked questions, which can be used to reduce effort in bid submissions

Collaborative Storyboarding and Relationship Building:

• Help drive solution storyboarding sessions with bid team members and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity in bid responses.
• Proactively build and maintain relationships with subject matter experts and associates across Tecknuovo to gather essential information and insights.

Research and Interviewing:

• Conduct interviews with various stakeholders to build research material and understand win themes.
• Interview subject matter experts and convert their technical expertise into bid-friendly content.

Service Offerings Communication:

• Understand and articulate the current Tecknuovo product offerings and intellectual property (IP), conveying how they meet client requirements effectively.
• Understand and describe previous Tecknuovo proposals and recent case studies that can be used in new proposals.

Content Structuring and Consistency:

• Lead on creating structured responses to bid questions, creating detailed question plans and drafts.
• Deliver completed written bid responses by agreed deadlines.
• Maintain consistency in proposal writing by adopting the same tone of voice as other proposal writers.
• Write, edit, and revise proposals according to feedback.

Best Practices:

• Review and manage the style guide for written content within our written sales collateral
• Coach the wider team on writing best practice and following the style guide.

Marketing support:

• Develop high-quality marketing copy (e.g. web, decks, brochures) that clearly communicates our value and expertise
• Need to add in something around marketing and copywriting etc

Experience required

• Strong previous experience writing public sector bid responses within the technology sector
• Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Advanced creative writing capability with the ability to write compelling copy
• Strong understanding of the English
• Strong time management/prioritisation skills
• Experience in selectively using AI to create boilerplate content and skeleton drafting from well-developed storyboards
