Job description

We are looking for an organised and adaptable Technical and Admin Support Officer to provide general administrative and technical support to our Estates and Property Management team. This is a varied role supporting the effective management of the Council's land, buildings and property records, while helping the team deliver a coordinated and responsive service.

You will maintain accurate property information, support estates management activity and assist with the day-to-day administration of land and premises. The role also includes utilities and financial administration, property inspections, plan preparation and liaison with colleagues, customers, members of the public and other professionals.

What you will be doing
  • Operating the Council's property management software and maintaining accurate records of land and property holdings.
  • Assisting with estates management activity, including the letting of land and premises.
  • Supporting utilities contract administration, including invoices, meter readings and changes of tenancy.
  • Managing lower-value properties, including allotment holdings and moorings.
  • Undertaking regular inspections of Council buildings, including vacant properties.
  • Preparing plans and using mapping systems as required.
  • Providing a full range of administrative support, including minute taking, filing and preparing letters, tables and reports.
  • Providing financial administration, including placing orders, raising and paying invoices and managing debtors.
  • Liaising effectively with colleagues, customers, members of the public and other professionals to support efficient service delivery and continuous improvement.
What we are looking for

You will have a good standard of education and be able to demonstrate sound workplace literacy and numeracy. You will be highly computer literate, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and work well as part of a team to achieve results.

You will also have extensive general clerical or administrative experience, experience of dealing with the public by telephone and in person, and experience of working with a range of database systems. Knowledge of asset management, property databases, finance and budgets, or web-based invoice processing would be an advantage.

You will be committed to equality of opportunity, regular and reliable service, and behaviours that support our values: professional, innovative, collaborative and customer focused.

  • Generous annual leave allowance. A minimum of 24 days (pro rata) in addition to all bank holidays, rising to 26 days after four years and 29 days after five years' local government service.
  • Future development through face-to-face and virtual learning opportunities.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of local residents and communities across Wyre.
