Job summary

William Henry Associates in Leeds is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor to provide technical support across fixtures and fixings, roofing, cladding and rainscreen applications. You will work with Customer Services, Sales and Specification teams, delivering clear guidance and practical solutions.

You will handle technical queries, assist with testing, training, documentation and ongoing development of the technical function, while visiting sites and liaising with stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

• Technical experience with fasteners, fixings, roofing or cladding in construction.
• Ability to commute to the Leeds office five days per week.
• Ability to interpret technical information and communicate solutions to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Understanding of CAD software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming technical queries by telephone and email with clear, practical advice.
• Provide technical support to Customer Services, External Sales and Specification teams.
• Support regional and field-based teams with technical queries and product applications.
• Manage technical requests through the internal portal and ensure timely progress.
• Deliver customer training sessions and product demonstrations where appropriate.
• Assist with product testing and reporting across relevant product ranges.
• Investigate product complaints, including site visits where required.
• Support colleagues across the wider technical team during absences.

Our client is a global construction products manufacturing business with over 10,000 employees and operations in over 40 countries. As part of continued growth within its UK technical function, they are looking to appoint an experienced and technically minded Technical Advisor.

The Role

As Technical Advisor, you will provide technical support and guidance across a range of UK product areas including fixtures and fixings, roofing, cladding and rainscreen applications. You will work closely with internal colleagues including , customer services, sales and specification teams and the customer themselves.

You will play an important role in ensuring technical queries are handled efficiently and accurately, while also contributing to product testing, customer training, technical documentation and the ongoing development of the technical function.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming technical queries by telephone and email, providing clear and practical advice.
• Provide technical support to Customer Services, External Sales and Specification teams.
• Support regional and field-based teams with technical queries and product applications.
• Manage technical requests through the relevant internal portal, ensuring queries are allocated and progressed promptly.
• Support and deliver customer training sessions and product demonstrations where appropriate.
• Assist with product testing and reporting requirements across relevant product ranges.
• Investigate product complaints, including attending site visits where required.
• Provide support to colleagues across the wider technical team and cover for team members during periods of absence.

The Candidate:

• You must have technical experience with fasteners, fixings, roofing or cladding within the construction industry.
• You must have the ability to commute to an office in Leeds 5 days per week.
• You will be comfortable interpreting technical information, understanding product applications and communicating solutions to a wide range of stakeholders.

• Relevant technical qualifications and/or practical experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
• A proactive approach, with the initiative and energy to identify and resolve issues.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical information.
• An understanding or appreciation of CAD software.
