Job Description:

Position Concept

As the post holder, you will be expected to have a detailed technical understanding of the installed MEP systems, contingency procedures, and be proactive in coaching team members to ensure capability is consistent. You will also familiarize yourself with all administrative and compliance requirements of the contract and Integral/JLL processes.

You will work closely with the engineering team to deliver all day-to-day MEP activities, including managing Specialist Vendors and acting as the technical support during these works. You will lead and motivate the team to exceed customer service and operational excellence expectations.

You will support sector-specific business development, monitor and report on service quality and financial performance, and promote innovation in service delivery.

Key Tasks

  • Lead the engineering team in delivering contract outcomes, including managing MEP Specialist Vendors.
  • Operate building systems effectively, recommend improvements, and prepare technical reports.
  • Manage the technical and efficient operation of all building systems and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate Specialist Vendor visits and ensure change management approval for critical works.
  • Ensure team and vendors meet contractual SLAs.
  • Manage the CMMS system for MEP maintenance and monitor team performance.
  • Participate in meetings and prepare engineering reports, including asset reliability.
  • Maintain the engineering risk register and report on critical systems.
  • Assess engineering competencies, identify skills gaps, and plan training.
  • Report on incidents and near misses, and ensure statutory compliance.
  • Manage escalation of vendor performance issues and communicate legislative updates.
  • Participate in emergency response and support financial management of the account.

Personal Specification:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in critical environments like banking or data centers.
  • HV/LV Authorized Person or willing to train.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND, or apprenticeship completion.
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2 or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH equivalent.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • IT proficiency and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training, including nights away if necessary.
  • High level of initiative and customer focus.
  • Professional appearance, integrity, and punctuality.
  • Team player with collaborative approach.
