Job summary

Fronius is seeking a Field System Engineer for our Welding team, based in the Milton Keynes area. You will install, service, repair and calibrate Fronius welding solutions at customer sites in the UK and Ireland, contributing to the implementation of our welding strategy.

You will travel across the UK and Ireland, supporting customers with technical issues, demonstrations, and after-sales activities; occasional travel to Austria for training is required.

Qualifications

• Technical experience in technical support of electrical equipment.
• Electrical engineering qualification required.
• Proficient in single- and three-phase fault finding and repair.
• IT skills including Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
• Knowledge of manual electrode, TIG and MIG/MAG welding processes is a plus.
• Sales minded with good customer communication skills.
• Strong communication and knowledge transfer abilities.
• Team worker with flexibility to travel.
• Valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Repair Fronius welding equipment including inverters, torches, hose packs and automated systems.
• Provide support to customers and troubleshoot issues.

Field System Engineer – Technical Support

We’re looking for a customer focused person, based in the Milton Keynes and surrounding area, to join our Fronius Welding team and fulfil the role of Field System Engineer in our Technical Support department. You will be responsible for the installation, service, repair and calibration of Fronius welding solutions both in-house and at our customer's sites in the UK and Ireland. With your industry and technical knowledge, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our strategy to take welding to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Repair of Fronius welding equipment including inverters, torches, hose packs, and automated systems
• Providing support to customers and troubleshooting
• Providing service and calibration of welding equipment
• Safety test and weld test after repair and servicing
• Providing technical support for the introduction of new products/systems/processes into the market
• Providing email and telephone support for technical and welding queries/problems
• Providing pre-sales and after-sales support to sales team and customers
• Providing support and demonstration of welding equipment
• Assisting with events (trade fairs, open days, seminars, etc.)
• Assisting with stock control

Skills and Experience

• Technical experience preferably on technical support of electrical equipment
• Electrical engineering qualification
• Single and 3-phase electrical fault finding and repair skills
• IT skills including Microsoft office suite (Excel & Word)
• Basic knowledge of manual electrode, TIG and MIG/MAG welding processes will be an advantage
• Sales minded/ good customer communication skills
• Good communication skills and knowledge transfer abilities
• Team worker
• Flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland (working hours and tasks arranged to suit customer requirements) plus occasional travel to our HQ in Austria for business and training
• Customer orientated attitude with professional approach to clients
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Valid driving license
