Job summary

AspenTech is seeking skilled Technical Support Engineers to join our team in Reading, UK, in two areas: Engineering Solutions and Subsurface Science & Engineering Solutions (SSE). You will provide technical support for Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ACCE, EDR and related tools, train customers, and work with R&D on product improvements.

Ideal candidates have a chemistry/process background, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to deliver training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Process/Petroleum Engineering or similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience with AspenTech Engineering tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, EDR, ACCE) or related software.
• Experience with process simulation models and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Hybrid modeling techniques and piping/layout development (OptiPlant-related technologies is a plus).
• Excellent communication and training delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Aspen Engineering solutions (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ACCE, EDR, or other related tools), troubleshooting complex technical and simulation issues.
• Deliver customer training and maintain up-to-date training materials for engineering products.
• Collaborate with customers to optimize workflows and recommend improvements to achieve better outcomes using our solutions.
• Engage with R&D teams to suggest product improvements based on customer feedback and your own insights.
• Conduct pre-release testing of software, contribute to product enhancement, and author white papers for the knowledge base.
• Travel to customer sites as required, with travel typically being less than 30%.
