We're looking for a technically minded and driven Technical Officer to join our Water Production team at Fishmoor Water Treatment Works. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of critical water treatment assets that serve customers across the region.

Working alongside Process Controllers, Engineers and operational specialists, you'll help optimise plant performance, drive improvements and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality drinking water while meeting stringent regulatory standards.

The Role

As a Technical Officer, you will support the operational management and optimisation of water production assets across your designated area. You will work closely with operational teams to identify performance improvements, investigate issues, maintain compliance and support the delivery of operational and capital investment programmes.

This is a highly visible role that combines technical analysis, problem solving, stakeholder engagement and operational leadership, providing an excellent opportunity to further develop your career within one of the UK's leading utility companies.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the safe and effective operation, maintenance and optimisation of water production assets.
  • Helping ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental and water quality standards across operational sites.
  • Monitoring and analysing operational performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigating water quality incidents and failures alongside Operational Scientists, Process Controllers and the Regulations team.
  • Identifying operational issues and asset requirements relating to performance, condition, reliability and compliance.
  • Writing, reviewing and maintaining Risk Assessments and Method Statements for planned and reactive site activities.
  • Chairing T2 meetings actively searching for site improvements.
  • Raising and managing asset-related issues requiring capital intervention through Optimus.
  • Working collaboratively with Water Production Managers and Area Production Managers to implement new initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supporting the achievement of internal performance targets and key business objectives.
  • Building strong working relationships with operational colleagues, technical specialists and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all company, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Essential Qualifications
  • Five GCSEs at Grade A-C (4-9) or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
  • BTEC Level 3 qualification within the water industry.
Desirable Qualifications
  • HNC or HND qualification in a relevant engineering, science or technical discipline.
