Job summary

United Utilities invites applications for a permanent, full‑time on‑site role at Northwich Wastewater Treatment Works. You will perform hands-on tasks across wastewater processes, carry out routine checks, and support investigations to maintain environmental and safety standards.

Based on site, you will work outdoors in all weather, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement while following established procedures.

Qualifications

  • A full UK driving license is required.
  • Worked in a related industry with similar operational environments and technical demands.
  • Knowledge of environmental output standards, compliance requirements, and procedures.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Able to always follow processes and work safely.
  • Comfortable working in a physically active, hands‑on role.
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Flexible approach to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to work towards an accredited qualification relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for someone hands‑on, team focused individual to help keep our wastewater treatment sites running smoothly.

Based on site, you’ll carry out essential tasks across a number of treatment sites, helping us meet important environmental, safety and customer standards. From taking samples and readings to cleaning and routine checks, your work will play a key part in protecting public health, the environment, and the communities we serve.
