Job summary

Cleo is hiring a Tech Lead ML Manager to join its data science team. You’ll lead a small team, own end-to-end ML initiatives, and drive production-grade models that power Cleo’s AI financial assistant and related products.

You’ll work with product managers, backend engineers and analysts, shaping the roadmap for the squad and balancing research with scalable delivery in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in data science, ML engineering or related roles.
• At least 1 year of management experience, ideally leading a small team.
• Ability to write production-quality Python code.
• Experience deploying ML models into production.
• Experience with both LLMs and classical ML.
• Comfortable with complexity and developing a holistic understanding of a system.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing a team of circa. 4 MLE’s
• Deploying machine learning models into production
• Collaborating with product managers, backend engineers and analysts to plan work for the squad.
• Helping define the roadmap for the squad/workstream
